The Brent Centre for Young People’s 2026–2029 strategy, Healthier Minds, Brighter Futures, sets out a bold vision to ensure that every adolescent can access timely, effective, and developmentally informed mental health support. Building on nearly six decades of pioneering work, the centre continues to address the escalating crisis in young people’s mental health with compassion, expertise, and innovation.
The strategy is underpinned by three interconnected programmes:
- Adolescent Centred Therapy – Expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy, reaching 1000 adolescents annually by 2029 through diverse interventions designed to meet a full spectrum of need.
- Enhanced Engagement – Breaking down social, economic, and cultural barriers to care through our practical support services, and bolstering our offering through key partnerships to support the most vulnerable young people. Co-creating services with young people, particularly those from underserved communities.
- Thoughtful Networks – Equipping parents, teachers, clinicians, and community professionals with the skills and confidence to recognise distress and respond effectively, ensuring every young person has a trusted adult to turn to.
Together, these programmes form a theory of change that transforms vulnerability into resilience, equipping young people to flourish into adulthood. Supported by a sustainable funding model and strong community partnerships, the Brent Centre will continue to deliver exceptional, accessible care.
