The Westminster Centre was opened in 2021 to address the mental health needs of young people in the area, and has now expanded into Kensington & Chelsea.
Despite the affluent connotations, the populations of both boroughs exhibit significant social inequities and rank high in measures of poverty and income inequality within London.
In the last year, the Centre:
- Offered 143 parent/family sessions
- Offered 1,488 therapeutic sessions to young people
Clinicians at the Westminster Centre for Young People extend the positive impact of the Brent Centre for Young People.
Founded in 1967, the Brent Centre was the first adolescent-specific mental health service in the UK. Today it’s internationally renowned for its clinical excellence. Clinicians at both Centres are specialists in their field, and are adept at managing complex cases, collaborating with statutory services, schools, and GPs.
