Queen's Park Day 2024: Connecting with the Community

Date published: 25.10.2024

The Brent Centre was thrilled to be part of this year’s Queen’s Park Day, held on Sunday, 15th September. This vibrant annual event brings together organisations, businesses, and community groups for a day filled with fun, festivities, and meaningful connections.

Engaging the Community

At our stall, the Brent Centre had the pleasure of engaging with the local community. Our BCYP Youth Panel hosted exciting fundraising games that drew in crowds and sparked conversations. We also provided information and materials about the essential mental health services we offer to young people in the area, helping raise awareness of our work. It was wonderful to introduce our team to community members and give them a glimpse of the dedicated individuals behind the Brent Centre.

Connecting with the community we serve is at the heart of what we do. Events like Queen’s Park Day are vital for building relationships with local residents and ensuring that young people know where to turn for support. We believe that these strong community ties are essential for breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and ensuring that our services reach those who need them most.

Connecting with Local Leaders

Queen’s Park Day also provided a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with local councillors, Members of Parliament, and community leaders. These interactions gave us the chance to showcase our services, discuss the needs of young people in Brent, and encourage support from influential figures who can help us continue making a positive impact.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who stopped by our stall, played our fundraising games, or took the time to learn more about the Brent Centre. Thank you for helping us in our mission to provide accessible, impactful mental health services to young people in our community.
