We're a Kindness in Community Fund recipient!

Date published: 08.01.2026

Brent Centre for Young People is thrilled to announce that out of over 4,000 nominations, we have been selected as a 2025 Kindness in Community Fund grant recipient, supporting youth mental health and wellbeing in our community. This program by Born This Way Foundation, co-founded and led by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Bissett Germanotta, and supported by funders including Pivotal, Cotton On Foundation, Sephora, Haus Labs, and others, supports grassroots organisations across 11 countries.

We've been selected as 1 of 4 organisations in the UK to support our work in providing mental health services to young people in North West London.

We are so excited to be a recipient of the Kindness in Community Grant. With this money, we'll be able to support so many more young people with their mental health. Funding from the Kindness in Community Fund directly strengthens our Young People in Crisis project, enabling us to provide intensive therapy for 75 young people experiencing suicidal ideation, severe anxiety or depression. With this support, we can intervene earlier, stabilise young people at high risk and prevent the need for emergency or inpatient care. At the Brent Centre for Young People, we see every day how timely, specialist support can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. Many of the adolescents we work with are experiencing suicidal thoughts, severe anxiety or depression yet cannot access help elsewhere.

Thanks to the Kindness in Community Fund, we can reach young people at the moment they feel most alone and at risk, offering the safety, stability and therapeutic care they urgently need. Their support enables our Young People in Crisis program to prevent escalation into emergency interventions and help 75 vulnerable young people regain hope, rebuild resilience and move towards a safer, healthier future. We are deeply grateful for this generosity and belief in our work.
