Meet our Youth Ambassadors

Date published: 01.06.2026

This year, we recruited two new youth ambassadors to join our team. These are young people who are committed to advocating for youth mental health and being a voice for young people in the community. Both bring lived experience and insight, and on the issues affecting young people today, contributing to our strategic discussions and service development.

Meet Kenechi

I care deeply about making sure young people feel heard, supported, and represented. I’m currently the Chair of Brent Youth Parliament, where I work with other young people to raise issues that matter to us and make sure our voices are part of conversations and decisions in the community. Before this, I was a Youth Panellist at BCYP, where I was able to share my perspective on the support young people need and contribute to discussions about the services the centre provides. This experience showed me how important it is for young people to be involved in shaping the spaces and support systems around them. I’m really excited to continue supporting the amazing work being done at the BCYP and to stay involved in helping create positive opportunities for young people in the community.

Meet Sharnelle

As a member of the BCYP 2025 Youth Panel, I gained a real insight into how young people from different backgrounds think and feel. Working with a group of young people in a collaborative setting helped me to open up about my own thoughts on mental health and I saw that many of the issues at the centre were things I could relate to. I feel comfort in knowing places like the Brent Centre exist and that there are always options to reach out for help. I'm a passionate photographer and filmmaker, and I hope, as a Youth Ambassador, to use my lens to express what words can't and ensure more young people know that help is available to them.

We're so excited to have these two inspiring young people on board and can't wait to see their contributions to the centre.
