Youth Panel takes the lead at Queen’s Park Day
Date published: 17.09.2026
This year, our Youth Panel took to the community at Queen’s Park Day, helping to run the Brent Centre for Young People’s stall and representing young people in our local community.
The panel planned and ran a range of activities to get visitors involved, including a raffle, a ‘Guess the Sweets’ challenge and our kindness bunting where visitors were invited to add their own messages of kindness, creating a colourful display throughout the day.
The stall was also an opportunity for the Youth Panel to talk to members of the community about the Brent Centre and the importance of supporting young people’s mental health.
Raising funds for our building

Queen’s Park Day also helped us raise funds towards the renovation of the Brent Centre’s headquarters, Laufer House. The therapy centre has supported young people in the local community for many years, and the renovation will help us continue providing a welcoming and accessible space for young people.
We’re hugely grateful to everyone who donated, took part in our activities and helped us raise almost £100 on the day. Every contribution helps us work towards creating a better space for the young people we support.
Meeting our local community

We were also pleased to welcome several key policymakers to our stall, giving our Youth Panel members the opportunity to talk about their work and share their perspectives on issues affecting young people.
For the panel, the day was a chance to take their role beyond the monthly meetings and put their ideas into action. From planning activities to speaking with members of the public, they played an important part in making the day a success.
Thank you to everyone who came to say hello, joined in with our activities, shared a message on the kindness bunting or donated to our building renovation.
And a special thank you to our Youth Panel for representing the Brent Centre and helping make Queen’s Park Day such a positive community event.
