We offer a free, compassionate, and safe therapeutic space for young people who have experienced domestic violence at home, in relationships, or elsewhere.
Our service is for young people who may be:
- Experiencing fear, anxiety or emotional distress at home or in relationships.
- Coping with PTSD symptoms, emotional flashbacks, self-harm, aggression, or suicidal thoughts.
- Struggling with trust, safety, damaged family or peer relationships, or feelings of exclusion or isolation.
- Experiencing academic, housing, safety, or social challenges as a consequence of domestic violence.
What happens in therapy
- Young people are provided with one-to-one therapeutic support and, where necessary, assistance to resolve practical needs such as school or college attendance, accessing community services, housing, or personal safety planning.
- We use Adolescent Exploratory Therapy (AET), our unique, creative, reflective approach designed to build resilience, emotional awareness, and healthy coping strategies.
Many of the young people we support report:
- Reduced feelings of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or overwhelming fear.
- Greater emotional stability including less anger, anxiety, and reactivity.
- Improved sleep, concentration, and engagement in school or social life.
- Stronger, more trusting relationships with family or peers.
Growth in confidence, independence, and a sense of hope for the future.
